I don't know if this will help you or not, but one thing I had to do to get
my card working with Vinux was to download Linux-image-2.6.30 from either
unstable or testing and that allowed me to have the proper module I needed.
Then I had to shut off network manager then I could use iwconfig to set my
options.
Have never tried operating with modes that required encryption so I suggest
you turn encryption off on your wireless network until you know you can get
the laptop to work on an open network then you can try adding some
encryption and see what you get.

To: Speakup is a screen review system for Linux.
Subject: Re: wireless
I'm not sure what the deal is, but it seems to have loaded my system with a
ton of packages, then failed, yet again. I think I'm going to write wireless
off as a lost cause and just use ethernet. Sort of defeats the purpose of a
laptop, but whatever. Short of trying to fix the source, there's not much
else I can do to get this thing to compile or even consider working as it
seems to be loaded with error upon error.

I think I have the latest. I'll hit that tomorrow and see what it gives,
though, but I thought there might be another reason for those errors.
