Hi Guys, Whatever your problems are with Debian they aren't universal. I have a system here which doesn't exhibit either symptom. /dev/dsp and friends exist, and /dev/cdrom properly points to my drive. I believe both these issues are taken care of by udev. I'd look there to figure out what the problem is. Best, Zack.
