The fact that your blind is not going to sway anyone hear, as I've told you.
Second, if you want speakup to work on a distro get something that speakup is built into, or you have to do the building yourself, and I'm not exactly ready to see choppy messages telling me how a blind user can't install speakup.
So, in short: get grml that allows you to use speakup and you can install it that way. You can get the source to the program you want to use and just compile and run, it would be your best solution.
