modprobe snd_pcsp

Also, check your Alsa settings for controls such as Speaker,0 and Beep,0 and
make sure the volume is set appropriately.

If snd_pcsp works you could add it to your /etc/modules file.

I can't guarantee that any of this will help, but it's all worth trying.
