clipboard, where is it?

Well, and it just occurred to me that you could use a standardized
file and save multiple pastes in there and when you pop over to gnome
have a shortcut or link to this file and open up with gedit or
something and cut/paste all day long in gnome.  AFAIK, one could only
paste one thing at a time into the clipboard but this file method,
though crude as it may sound, does allow for stacking multiple
potential clipboard entries.
