In that case, the tar xvf command should work with no trouble.

Pretty much correct, except make in make install should be all 
lowercase, no capital M. And on most Unix systems, you will actually 
have to type

sudo make install <enter>

and enter your password when prompted. Not sure if this is the case on 
MacOS or not, since I never used it, but that's the way it works on most 
other similar systems. Sorry for the small amount of confusion. I hope I 
got it right this time.
