Lynx startup file problem

Well what' I would do if possible is to modify the system wide lynx.cfg. That way the fix will benefit all users.

Have you tried to override the default start URL in $HOME/.lynxrc?
This wouldn't solve the problem for you system-wide, but it might
prove enough to solve it on a per user basis for those accounts that
use lynx. Hth somewhat.
