Speakup Parameters Still Broke

When I run speakupconf save, all seems to be OK and I don't get any
"invalid parameter" errors. But when I do a 'speakupconf load' I do
get one error when catting the values back. I can't figure out a way
to make the operation more verbose so I can't tell you now which
variable is causing the error. However while using the softsynth plus
espeakup 0.3, I do get a strange deal. When doing a 'speakupconf
load', I get the fore-mentioned cat error followed by a drastic
reduction in pitch and rate. Whats more, the values in the sudo
variables are not changed but yet the sound changes. If I use the
speakup keyboard functions to reset pitch and rate, then all is fine
again. I will include a script of what I did when this happened.

When I was doing this with my speakout synth, I got the single error
on the load function but I did not experience the pitch and rate
changes I did with software speech.
