I use the speechd-up package from ubuntu on my debian Sid 32-bit
system, built by Luke Yelavich if I recall correctly. I've never used
the 64-bit package, but you can find it at:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/speechd-up/speechd-up_0.4-0ubuntu3_amd64.deb
