Hi. What Don said is indeed correct. As is the case with nearly any type of
residential cable connection, you're going to use DHCP to get an IP address.
Consequently, it's just a matter of running your favorite DHCP client i.e.,
dhclient, dhcpcd, or whatever. What is a bit morp complex though is getting a
DSL connection going, since a lot of the time you're stuck messing with PPPOE to
get things going. It's been years since I've looked at relevant documantion, so
that may in fact be a lot easier now. Hope this helps.
