Mail confusion.

Use the h option in alpine or a simelar option to see why it comes back.
/var/log/exim/ may also contain an error log which can help.
I cannot remember the name now, but there is a configuration option for 
exim which is relativly easy to use under ubuntu.
If you can only send mail from one user to another on your own box, exim 
might be configured to not allow sending of mail other than to localhost.
