question on using old external DECTalk

Gene, thanks!  I'm having other problems, but trying the command, it seemed
I sure got a lot of speed out of the thing.  I'll try some other
experiments.

Hi.  You can see if yourDecTalk external supports anything faster by sending
a synth command directly to the synthesizer.  Try something like  the
following:

echo "[:ra700]" >/sys/module/speakup/parameters/synth_direct

See if that doesn't help.
