Speakup and VMWare

Have you tried /dev/synth instead?

Also, could you please consider writing up a howto of some sort
describing what you did to get to where you are at now running winxp
under VMPlayer? I for one would be interested in seeing what the
procedure is like, and I probably am not the only one.
