Problems with installing speakup with fedora 3 please help

FC3 is quite out of date, and you will be much better off using fc6. 
With FC6, you have the ability to have yum point to a speakup modified
version of fedora, so that you will no longer have to worry about
installing speakup.
There is also a howto on how to install fedora on the speakup web site
that also is vary good in walking you through the install process.
