Sox will play both ogg and mp3. But I've had the best luck with
mplayer, which allows you to skip backward and forward, shuffle and a
lot of other nice things and plays ogg, mp3 and a host of other file
formats out of the box. Depending on the distro you're running, it
should be fairly to install mplayer on your box.
