Having issues with DECtalk express and 2.6.20

Hello all,

Very interesting problem I'm having over here with the latest speakup
and kernel 2.6.20. My DECtalk express isn't being found. Speakup will
find find it if I load the bns driver, but that's a headache since I
can't really do anything with a synthesizer that doesn't respond to
control commands. And in grml, speech is just fine with the express. Any
help with this would be greatly appreciated.
