I should add that of course we have to get our license renewed every ten 
years, so then I think you will need to get it re-assigned to the area in 
which you live.
But if I had gotten my license renewed last year, and moved to another part 
of the country, I could use my number with the 0 in another area for the 
next 9 years.

I am a HAM, N0YJV.
You can use your call sign from where ever it came from, and it doesn't
matter if the number in the sign matches your residence.
