Fedora installation

You should be able to get the kernel from linux-speakup.org and installing
it should go something like:

Switch to a console with control alt and f2.
Log in as root.
Cd to the directory where the rpm of the new kernel lives.
Type rpm -ivh kernel-name.rpm

I use ivh as that will install the new kernel but leave the existing one
intact. It can be a good idea if something goes wrong. When you reboot the
computer you'll have to select the new kernel from the list. I'm afraid I
cant help you there though.

Upgrading the kernel with the command rpm -Uvh kernel-name.rpm will get rid
of that problem though.

If you download a source kernel well, the instructions are a bit more
complicated but the last time I checked it was an RPM.

Hope that helps.

Where do I get the kernel from? And how do I install it?

Cheers.

I did try and "roll my own", but it didn't work.

Cheers,
