Hi Steven
Thanks for the advice. I did some poking around and came across a couple
sites that answered more questions for me about my decision. I'll do the
YUM approach. I want to learn from my experiences with Linux, and I Live On
The Edge always! I'm not afraid to take chances...

Willem,
What you are trying to do will cause you nothing but problems.
If you want to do an upgrade without using the install process, then you
cannot skip a full version.
There are too many changes and issues that will get in the way.
If you are relatively new to Linux, then I recommend creating a install
disk, and telling Linux that you are doing a ftp install, and follow the
prompts.
If you want to live on the edge, and want to give it a try, You can use yum
to upgrade your system.
To do this, you will first need to upgrade to FC4 and then FC5.
Again, this is not for the novice.
Personally, I use the yum approach. However:
- if you are not willing to follow prompts
- read error messages.
- use the internet to find out what the errors are telling you.
- read up on other's experiences.
- know what you are doing before you start this process.
I don't recommend this means of upgrading.
