help with kernel and synth

Hello list,
I have a slight problem,
I had tyler stivy compiling a kernel for me, because I don't have a synthasizer any more, due to my double talk going out.
He told me that the kernel I had didn't support the drivers that I needed for the sound card, and I needed to compile the kernel.
I can't really operate menuconfig through ssh, so I tuneled ssh through another shell, and did it that way.
Anyway, he got half way through it, and saved the config, telling me he would do it tomorrow. That was Friday night, and he hasn't been able to help sense.
Is anyone willing to come on through ssh and help compile this thing so I can get espeak up and running?
I need to get a couple other computers set up, and I was trying to get everything done by the end of the week.
