Those things usually have 100,000 dollar warrantees on them, so you might
want to look into that. Although I'm afraid it might only be for direct
value and not potential value.

was this plugged in to a real power serge protector aor just a power bar of
outlets. there's a chance your machine is gone do to a serge.  
I just lost a p3 866 due to this issue. I had it plugged in to power bar,
which I was asured that could handle serges by a store person and now my p3
866 is a gon er.
