verifying inline signatures

The failure to verify on my system seems to coincide with a Mutt upgrade
around the same time.  Maybe the developers removed the patch that used
do do this?  Maybe it is implemented differently now?  Maybe there is a
new config variable I don't know about yet?  I guess I should check out
the changelog and the manual.
