Your best bet for installing Debian is to use the Speakup-enabled image at
http://people.debian.org/~shane
You will need a hardware speech synthesizer to use this installer, since it
doesn't support software speech.  The speakup documentation at linux-speakup.org
can tell you what synthesizers are supported.  I have only used the Dectalk and
litetalk, so I am unsure of all the other supported synthesizers.
Unfortunately, if the box you are using doesn't have a serial port, you are
pretty much s.o.l. , since Speakup doesn't support USB devices at this time.
