Hello all:
I am installing fc 3 and I use a doubletalk lite.

Now in the processes of installing the packages of disc one,
something strange happens.
I get speech out of the synth all the way install beginning of
starting to install the actually packages.
and then all of a sudden, a hole lot of text comes out explain the
status of the packages being installed (I mean a hole lot!) and
usually I am able to make it quite by hitting the ctrl key, but if
you let it talk for too long you lose control of your synth and even
the ctrl key won't show any response. and it will babble and babble
till I get nothing at all from the synth. so then I continue getting
the insert new cd prompts and the entire system gets installed, and I
reboot. and the system starts up but to a text filled screen and not
a graphic user interface. I am not sure what is says though because I
am not sure If i could type the speakup_synth=ltlk and the
speakup_ser=0 to get sppech once the system is actually installed.
Does anyone have this same experience, if you let it babblle for too
long you just lose it all together?
I am using a laptop, so I don't know how to use the equivalent of the
numpad enter key to silence him the other way.
its a gateway 1450 celeron 1.2ghz with 256 of ram . and I am using a
doubletalk lite.
Again, it would seem the system installed ffine and I got the "your
done press the reboot button" after the fourth cd (my wife told me
this) (After I rudely woke her up at three in the moring! "sorry honey)

any ideas?
