A Linux Laptop including speech?

Right. 16M of RAM is probably pushing the lower limit even for linux. I 
would think RAM for that thing would be expensive even if you could find it.

Like I said though, I am very happy with my Pentium 150 Mhz with 56 Mb RAM. 
With the external synth, it rocks. Even with software speech, it's very 
tolerable.  I mean, I use it all the time for editing text checking my 
mail, and as a terminal emulator.

If I have to find out why somebody's machine has lost it's network 
connection,  I connect my laptop to the serial port, run kermit,  log in 
and do my diagnostics. It works great.
