Hello all,

Has anyone successfully built/installed flite-1.3 using the --enable-shared option? When I run make it says auclient.os: no such file or directory.

From what I can tell, it's dragging the cart before the horse, so to speak, in that it's trying to find shared library files before they're compiled. I wish they would've left good enough alone and decided not to adopt Festival's horid config file system (it uses ./configure, but it writes settings to a "config/config" file and there are things like commonmakerules.mak). That system is from hell.

Do I still even need flite shared libs for speech-dispatcher ETC? Am I just crazy and is this only happening to me?

Thanks in advance,
Garrett
