speakup from cvs fails to patch vt.c in kernel 2.6.16.10 and up

Speakup cvs does not work any longer on kernels below 2.6.16.  To
further more, currently speakup in cvs is broken since I put Gilles
patches in.  I will hopefully get a chance to fix that in the next day
or so.
