package installation problem, solved

Chuck, just so you know, I've totally blew away modutils on one of my
2.6.x-based debian boxes, and have been running with module-init-tools
just fine for a good while now. Yes, it does look like it has less
stuff then modutils, but that's because a lot of the modutils
functionality was streamlined in module-init-tools, so it is smaller,
but does the same stuff and more according to the man pages. Glad to
hear you've got the problem solved.
