Receiving podcasts?

Hey question. Does the "catch-up" feature just start grabbing at the  
current date? I haven't looked a this lately, but am thinking of  
switching over to it. Not sure if the Mac has all this installed by  
default, but m ost of it is. In any case just so I don't have to grab  
all those old casts, just wanted to know if a one-time run with the  
catch-up parameter will do the trick.
