By crash, do you mean that it exited with an error, or that it just
hung there once you tried to mount the file system? If it just hung
there, then you most likely don't have the versions of ntfs.sys, and/or
ntoskrnl.exe that captive will work with, even if you got them from a
win xpsp2 system. You should run captive-install-acquire(1) to put
correct versions of those files on your system by either searching for
them on mounted file systems, or by grabbing them from macroslop off
the web. Hth.
