Hi all.
The subject pretty much says it all. I tried to build a 2.6.14 kernel
with speakup from cvs, and ran into trouble while patching:
Patching files [pppp1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file
/usr/src/linux/arch/sparc64/Kconfig.rej
pp1 out of 3 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file
/usr/src/linux/drivers/Makefile.rej
ppp1 out of 10 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file
/usr/src/linux/drivers/char/keyboard.c.rej
ppppp] done.
Since the first failed hunk is for sparc64, it's not critical obviously, but the
others didn't look so good.
Even though the patches failed, I decided to try to build the kernel
anyway, and see what happened. As expected, I ran into problems while
doing make bzImage, and here is the relevant output from that:
drivers/char/keyboard.c: In function `kbd_connect':
drivers/char/keyboard.c:1227: error: `fakekeydev' undeclared (first
use in this function)
drivers/char/keyboard.c:1227: error: (Each undeclared identifier is
reported only once
drivers/char/keyboard.c:1227: error: for each function it appears in.)
make[2]: *** [drivers/char/keyboard.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [drivers/char] Error 2
make: *** [drivers] Error 2
I'm not sure if these errors are the result of changes in speakup, or
in 2.6.14, but I thought I'd post a report.
Greg
