I knew it was init something, but after working with a falty MBR for the
last 3 weeks, the only thing I could think of was "initrd". LOL.

Chris,
I'm not gusy but if you switch to run level 3, you'll be in command line
mode on FC4. You can edit /etc/inittab and change the default run level
to
3. Look for the line with "initdefault".

I have just installed FC4 on my machine, but now I have a bit of a
problem.
There is a gui login, and when you login there is a gui coming up with
nothing but a terminal window and the clock.
How do I get it into entirely command line mode?
