Just run the installer program that comes with DECtalk. It will ask for 
your serial number, which you enter. It will give an error at the end of 
the installation, but don't worry. Just run ldconfig as root as that is 
what it tries to do, but the syntax in the bash script is wrong.

You should then be good to go.
