Hi, yes go to
http://people.debian.org/~shane/netinst-speakup/
Get that iso.
Burn it to cd. The manor you do this will depend on your cd burning
software.
Then boot your system from the cd. Note if your system will not boot from
cd you may need some one to check your bios for you and corect that problem.
Most units running windows 98 or lator will boot from cd. Then at the boot
prompt witch will not speak type this speakup speakup_synth=ltlk
Then press enter. After that you will here the synthasizer report the
kernel init. Now the installer will load make sure you follow the prompts
key 8 on your num pad is your best friend threw this hole proseager. This
reads the curant line. Key five is your second best friend this reads
curant word. If you review the screen with the speakup commands make sure
you return to where the cursor is before going on. To do this press enter
on the numb pad. Hth

Yeah, dtlk LT or litetalk will work just fine us speakup_ltlk at the boot
prompt.

As for anything Gnomish you'll have to ask someone else.
