OT: Freedombox running as non-root user and messenger clients

Hi all. I recently tried running Freedombox as myself instead of as Root. However, I noticed that when I ran it as myself, I couldn't use the msn client. I changed the permissions of 
/home/igueths/My Freedombox to 777 to see if it was a permissions problem, which it wasn't. Has anyone ever come across this before? Thanks!
