Bouncing cursor in pine.

Hi all.  I've noticed forever, that while reading mail in pine, I gather
when the status line is updated, like new mail or whatever, I always seem
to jump to the top of screen.  I'm guessing the screen repaints??  So,
when newmail comes in, I then have to go down the braille display or find
the place again.  I've checked all the quell options in the config, and
I'm wondering if I've overlooked something that can be turned off while
reading mail itself.  I saw something like quell check in inbox, and
thought that might be something but am not sure.  Or, is it to do with
cursor tracking in either speakup or brltty?  If it's brltty, I'll have to
delve again and see how to park or unpark a cursor.  Thanks much.
