The difference between 2 burners??

Hi all.  On the office box, I have a regular cd burner, and at home, dvd
as well.  My usual syntax is something like
cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrom *.wav or -pad *.wav

On the homebox, I get a message about no write mode specified

I tryed even -audio but still the same message.

Is this because there's the differential of dvd being there??  Hmmmm..
Haven't figured out how to burn dvds yet in any case.

Any idea what it wants for write modes??  Thanks.
