Linux installation question

[Ghoston, Ameenah]

I am not a newbie at linux. However, I am trying to get an installation
(fedora core 3) to install with speakup. It boots up and all. I get the
screen for GuI bla, bla, for text bla. I go to type "text speakup_synth=bns
speakup_ser=0. However, these commands doesn't get the installation with
speakup going.
