Hi all. Anyone have any idea what might be going on here? When I tried
to figure out why my speechstart wasn't working I found this: [Tue Feb
8 12:47:49 2005] speechd: Speechd-speakup starts!
[Tue Feb 8 12:47:49 2005] speechd: ERROR! Unable to open soft synth
device (/dev/softsynth)

ls -l on /dev/softsynth gives me this: crw-r--r-- 1 root root 10, 26
2005-02-08 12:46 softsynth

Anyone have any idea why Speechd-up might not be able to open the
device? Everything is currently running as root. Thanks!
