Problem installing Debian

If you have sighted assistence, I would suggest that you do the basic 
install without speech and then put the correct line into 
/etc/apt/sources.list for the latest kernel.
run apt-get update and apt-get install with the kernel image name.
That will install the speakup-enabled kernel and you should be ok.
