No cd audio??

Also, not meaning to be obvious but make sure it's unmuted.
If you use alsamixer I believe you use -c1 to do the second card's 
settings; not sure about aumix.
I find alsamixer confusing personally with speech, but with braille I can 
use it as long as I look up at the top to see what setting I'm sitting on 
as the cursor can get off if you go back and forth.
