Absolutely. For every supported synth. You just have to wire them
in--which is the business about creating an initrd as explained in the HOWTO.

First, thanks for the compliment.

You can certainly use them both without trouble, because each is a front
end to rpm which does the real work. But, you'll not install
speech-dispatcher via apt or yum for the same reason, namely that no one
has created an rpm package for speech-dispatcher yet.

Yes, but you'll have to do the last steps to get emacspeak working by
hand. Furthermore, you'll probably want to upgrade emacspeak, which is
available in an rpm.
