WHY WOULD THEY REMOVE GNOME? ITS ONE OF THE MOST USED DESKTOPS?

Well, I maintain a mirror of slackware-current on my ftp server, and
gnome has in fact been removed. I don't think they're joking folks.
Equal causes can produce very unequal effects.
