Yes, this is correct. The Millennium 20/40 units from Freedom
Scientific can be used as tts speech synthesizers with speakup or any
other screen reader since firmware version 4.0, or 4.1. Actually I've
just looked at the freedom scientific site download section, and I see
that firmware 4.0 can be downloaded for free, so the tts functionality
is available since 4.1 and higher, because I remember that the speech
box mode was reintroduced in the first non-free firmware update, and
that appears to be 4.1, rather then 4.0. As far as I know, the
Millennium 20/40 would be used with a screen reader as a doubletalk
lt, the speakup keyword for which is ltlk I believe. I'm going to post to the
fs support list, so we can end the speculation once and for all.
