serial conversion with speakup

Yes I am aware of them. This project has been being privately worked on for
a few months now. I wasn't going to say anything until I was closer to
releasing something, but now that I've shot off my mouth, I might as well be
out with it... What I am working on is a complete CD based Linux system. The
next test release is going to have softsynth and flite built in, so you
could in theory use it to install any hd based distro you chose once you
booted the CD. It is similar in concept to knoppix, but the goals of the
project are quite different. The developer team has been working steadily on
the project for about 3 months or so. We're finishing up version 0.5 now,
0.6 is supposed to be the first publically available release and is targeted
for a release date of November 15, 2004. If you are interested in testing
the next version (0.5) we could use a couple more developers on the
development team. Email me privately if you are interested.

Anyway, that is the solution I am working on. Like I said, you should be
able to boot the CD and then use it to load what ever flavor of Linux on to
your hard drive you wanted. I don't know the details of how to do each one
because that was not the original goal, but it occured to me later on in the
process that you could do this if you wanted. If people are interested in
this project, I could definitely post more information.
