Actually, Slackware now offers 2.4.26 in its patches directory. The kernel source comes with a directory containing a CVS version of Speakup and a script to patch it in. It's the CVS version from 04/14/2004. I chose to just grab the newest CVS with checkout since it fixes a few minor bugs. It works just fine once you patch Speakup in.
