Flite Still Using 8 Bit Voice?

Hello,
All I know is that moving libflite_cmu_us_kal.* libraries to a
directory out of ld's path, renaming the libflite_cmu_us_kal16.*
libraries to libflite_cmu_us_kal.*, and fixing the symlinks fixed my
problems. Thanks, Jacob, for the solution.
The nice thing about this solution is that Speech-dispatcher
doesn't need to be recompiled. BTW, the symlinks in question were
libflite_us_kal16.so, and libflite_cmu_us_kal16.so.1, which both both
pointed to libflite_cmu_us_kal16.so.1.2. When these two symlinks were
renamed to libflite_cmu_us_kal.so and libflite_cmu_us_kal.so.1, they
still pointed to libflite_cmu_us_kal16.so.1.2, which didn't exist
anymore. So I just had to relink those two files and presto... new and
improved Flite.
HTH,
Garrett.
