Yeah, looks fine, sorry for being basic, but better a pro for whom
things are over-simplified than a thoroughly confused newbie.

Is all the space that's taken up on /dev/hda1 in /tmp? If that is the
case you may use "-T /mnt/hdd2/" with the rsync command to totell it to
put temp files on the new drive where there is space.
