Thanks. I went to www.linuxpackages.net, and found a slackware package
for mplayer 1.0pre4, which I installed. When I tried running mplayer
on one of my ogg files, I got an error about not being able to find a
libdvdread library. Doing a search for libdvdread revealed a
libdvdread 0.9.4 package, which I also installed.

Running mplayer again on my ogg file yields:

mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libXxf86dga.so.1:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

. I searched linuxpackages.net for libXxf86dga, and looked through my
slackware 9.1 cds for a file that had this in its name, but no
luck. So, could someone please enlighten me as to what else I'm
missing? Thanks.

Greg
