general Linux command

What is the command for unpacking a file called:
C:\RockBox\RockBox-DevKit\home\rockbox-daily-20040430.tar.gz
This is some Linux distro which is a dev kit for a utility for my jukebox,
on a windows machine.
I think I can test the program out if I know how to unpack this file.
I have learned a little with the help command, but first I want to complete
this step.
I know that this is pretty basic, but I am still new at this.
